Dan opens the show with a blast around a premiere Formula 1 track in the dust of Bahrain's desert with Lamborghini's latest sports star. The 2019 Huracan Evo promises to be the most technologically advanced supercar in the company's history, but time is tight and Dan has to pull out all the stops to find out if it's the finest Lambo to date.

Back on home turf, Volkswagen has to once again defend the Golf GTI's honour as a French contender arrives on the hot-hatch scene. The Renault Megane RS didn't arrive in time for our affordable performance car mega test so we arrange a special one-on-one date with the iconic VW.

Then Dan jets to Japan to see how Mazda is celebrating 30 years of the MX-5 with a visit to the company's restoration clinic. In the bowels of the Hiroshima headquarters, a team of techs is creating motoring magic and returning the original sportscar-for-the-people to incredible better-than-new condition.

Taking us out this week, Tony hops aboard one of 2019's tiniest cars but one that's making a big impression. The Suzuki Jimny is drawing quite a crowd with its charming looks but how does it go away from the beaten trail when there's real work to be done?
