About the Kia Stinger
It could be argued the Kia Stinger is one of the most significant models since the South Korean brand’s birth in 1944.
The sporty sedan introduced in 2017 marked the company’s transition from a maker of respectable but slightly conservative cars into high-performance territory (at least in V6 form).
With rear-wheel drive fed by a twin-turbocharged V6 petrol that produced 274kW and 510Nm, the Stinger put Kia firmly on the fast-car map.
A second four-cylinder turbocharged version is also offered in the local market, but is comprehensively outsold by the bigger engine.
There was a mid-life update in 2020, though with Kia’s performance ambitions shifting away from combustion power, the Stinger’s future is looking shaky.
