Drag Challenge 2019 spectator guide

Not competing at Street Machine Drag Challenge but still want to be part of the action come 11 November? Why not come along and be a spectator!

IF YOU’RE a drag racing nut, Street Machine Drag Challenge is the only event in Australia where you can see the toughest genuine street cars throwing down on track!

Drag Challenge

Drag Challenge 2019 runs from Monday 11 November to Friday 15 November. From Monday to Thursday, spectator admission is $20, while Friday at Calder Park is $25. Kids 13 and under are free. Or if you can get the week off, you can buy a wristband on Day One for $100 that gets you into every track for the duration of the event, plus a bonus Drag Challenge T-shirt. You’ll be able to buy all the merchandise at each track and also online at our store after the event.

Drag Challenge

As always, if you can’t make it to the tracks, we’ll have extensive coverage online coming straight from our team in the trenches. You won’t want to miss any of it, because this year’s Drag Challenge is going to be wilder than ever, with our front-runners all stepping it up to go quicker than ever before.

Holden HQ Monaro

Daniel Szabolics’s mental HQ Monaro will certainly draw some interest. It is a beautifully built car and has so far run a best of 7.73 seconds at 193mph. Daniel and the team had the HQ out for testing at Calder recently, with both Daniel and his Drag Challenge co-pilot Frank Marchese having goes behind the wheel. They struggled to get the power down though, finishing up with a best of 8.0@168mph for the night.

Ford ZD Fairlane

Also out testing was Dom Luppino in his 440-cube ZD Fairlane. Dom is famous for racing some seriously quick Pro Street and Pro Mod Mustangs, but his Fairlane will be no slouch either. The big beast will be a cool addition to the Pacemaker Radial Aspirated ranks!
