THREE days of racing, over 600km of driving through roadkill-infested countryside and plenty of happy competitors. Gotta say, Drag Challenge Weekend 2019 was pretty good!

The event had 1000 great stories. Terry Seng had his VC Commodore on fire, but he didn’t have it all his own way in the chase for the outright title and Haltech Radial Blown gong. Last year’s winner Mark Van Der Togt kicked him honest in his XW Futura, running the best time at Warwick Dragway on Sunday.

Dylan Murdoch and Ben Neal traded blows for supremacy in the XR6 Turbo Developments Six Cylinder Class and even Alon Vella was feeling the heat in Pacemaker Radial Aspirated, with Brett Armstrong’s HK Monaro proving a very effective weapon on its DCW debut.

Alysha Teale had to fight for her second K&N DYO title every step of the way and Jason Ross came from behind to nab the first-ever Tuff Mounts 235 Blown trophy. Only Matthew Walsh and Nathan Ghosn in Outlaw Aspirated and 235 Aspirated had a clear run to the finish all weekend.

Turbosmart Outlaw Blown was all about Noel Inman in his crazy hot rod, but his victory only happened after a last-minute fix to his car got him down the track right before the lanes shut. Epic!

The full trophy list is here and we’ll have complete standings in each class online soon.
