NEXT year will mark 32 years of the good times at Street Machine Summernats. If you want to be a part of it with your car, you can enter now!
The big reason to get in early is to save some bucks. From now until 31 May, it will cost $175 for a basic entry. This rises throughout the year, so the sooner you get in, the better.
The other reason to get in quick is to snaffle a plantinum entrant pass. These babies sell out fast - they give you shaded seating at the burnout pad, special seating in the main arena grandstand, prepaid event parking and 10 per cent off Summernats merch.
Here's a few things that a worth knowing:
* If you want to participate in the City Cruise, make sure you tick the box on your online entry. This won't guarantee you a spot, but it will put you in the running. If your car is chosen, you'll need to do scrutineering on Tuesday or Wednesday
* Sorry, but you can't enter a bog-stock 2017 Toyota Camry in the Street Machine Summernats. Your car should be modified or otherwise unique. There is an approval system to go through, so put down as much info about your car and what you've done to it as possible to speed up the process. And upload heaps of photos when you do. Need more info? Check this out
* There is a new online entry system this year, so you'll need to create an account. The new system will provide immediate approval in some cases and it the same account can be used to enter Red CentreNATS
* Car entries won't be checked or approved until there is an entrant ticket associated with it.
