QUALIFYING for the Street Machine Summernats 31 Burnout Championships started yesterday and continues today.

This year, we’ve got a really quality field, with a great variety of cars in action. The HAKDUP Bedford pickup copped a bit of grief at scrutineering due to its heavily exposed twin turbo system, but the boys got it sorted and put on a kick-ass display on the pad.

It is great to see some genuine street cars out on the pad, including a few early Holdens!

Farmtruck made a triumphant return to the pad, after a mammoth effort by the Canberra Institute of Technology crew to get the C10 ready to redeem itself – which it did in style. Yeeha!

Will Morgan has stuck a 6/71 blower onto this LS1-powered Commodore and is having a fat time. 21-year old Will is the son of Top Fuel pilot Darren Morgan and takes care of the clutch duties for dad’s race car.

We’ve have a video of the highlights up shortly!
