“I PURCHASED my HK Premier in 2010 as an unfinished project. It was knackered, with plenty of rust and in need of a full rebuild. It had a Holden 308 in it but now runs a worked 307 Chev.
It’s running a cam package with an RPM Air-Gap manifold, Holley 750 and Jet-Hot-coated extractors. Trans is a T350 with a shift kit and 3200rpm stall, running back to a nine-inch with 3.5:1 gears and 31-spline axles.
The body has been mini-tubbed to the rails to fit the 15x10 rims – Max Dumesny beadlocks with Weld AlumaStar centres. The fronts are 15x4 Billet Specialties Comp 5s. Brakes are HQ vented discs on the front and HQ drums down back, while lowered front coils and reset rear leaf springs get the stance right.
I had to chase up some new doors for it, and had the body repaired thanks to Cameron Arkell at Cam’s Metal & Speed. Then it was resprayed in Inca Gold with the classic white roof.
It still has the original burgundy interior; I wanted to keep it looking original for a family cruiser. It was going to be the wife’s car, but I don’t think she’s even driven it yet!”
