HSV WRISTWATCH

THE tenacious team at HSV has taken time out from switching Camaro steering wheels from the left to the right to produce a new range of schmick wristwatches. Offered in GTSR and GTSR Maloo styles, these watches take their design cues from the vehicles and are packed with performance features, including dual time dials. Built to the high standard for which HSV is renowned, the mechanism sits in a brushed stainless-steel case with an engraved case back featuring vehicle specs, while the strap is genuine leather with complementary stitching. You can grab one now from shop.hsv.com.au.

ENGINE STAND

If you’re planning on doing some major surgery to your donk, it’s just about impossible to do it properly without a quality engine stand. The Hare & Forbes engine stand fits the bill perfectly, capable of taking over 900kg of hulking engine. Like most engine stands, it allows full 360-degree rotation of the engine and has four mounting arms, but unlike most it has five swivel wheels instead of four, making it easier to push 900 kegs of engine around the workshop. AEROFLOW’S MUSTANG COLD AIR INTAKE

New-gen Mustangs are pretty potent machines from the factory, but there’s always room for improvement. Aeroflow’s new cold air intake kit for 2015-17 Muzzies is a super-easy bolt-on affair, using factory mounting points from the original airbox while still making use of all the emission and vacuum lines to keep things neat and simple. The Aeroflow pod filter is not only better at feeding the engine but it gives the mighty Coyote donk a menacing growl for good measure. You can grab a kit now from Rocket Industries on (02) 8825 1900 or aeroflowperformance.com.

LIGHT BULBS

Having globes that constantly let you down can be a pain in the rear (or front, as the case may be). ACDelco stand behind their light bulbs by offering a 12-month/20,000km warranty on their normal automotive range, and a 24-month/50,000km warranty on their long-life range. Part of the reason the company is so confident in the longevity of its globes is that they’ve been designed with enhanced vibration and shock resistance. ACDelco stock headlights, tail-lights, indicators and everything in between, and offer a variety of types to suit a range of applications, including H1, H4 and H7. Find out more on 1800 ACDelco or visit acdelco.com.au.

HOLLEY ROCKER COVERS

LS engines are beaut things, but in standard trim they do lack a bit of visual appeal, especially with those ugly rocker covers making a home for the factory coil packs. Holley now offers a neat solution to the problem with these retro covers, which neatly hide the coil packs in a simple bolt-on package, eliminating the need to spend time relocating the coil packs. Perfect for an old-school build needing a new-school LS heart, grab a pair now from Eagle Auto Parts on (03) 8710 3000 or visit eagleautoparts.com.au.

TAILSHAFT LOOP

Dropping tailshafts on either the street or strip is going to leave you in all sorts, so it’s a bit of a no-brainer to make sure your beast has a tailshaft loop; especially considering most tracks won’t
let you run big numbers without one. Tuff Mounts now offer a new tailshaft loop specifically designed for the Holden boys, a direct bolt-in loop for VE-VF Commodores with V8 autos, complete with mounting hardware. You can grab one now from musclegarage.com.au or (08) 8374 0011.

RYOBI POWER TOOLS

Power tools are an awesome thing, from making quick work of normal jobs to getting you out of a bind when a stubborn bolt needs that little bit of modern persuasion. The impact wrench is probably one of the most valuable tools in an auto enthusiast’s arsenal, and Ryobi’s new brushless version is one of the top goers. The brushless tech means it won’t wear out the gun or the batteries as quickly, but critically it has three different speed settings so you can be as brutal or refined as the task requires. You can find out more at ryobi.com.au.
