THE panel van scene may have had its glory days in the 1970s and early 80s, but interest in the mobile sin bins is now greater than it has been in decades.
We’ve been to a few Van Nationals over the past decade or so and enjoyed them all, but the 40th anniversary event looks like being the biggest in years.
Held in Bathurst over the Easter long weekend, the Nationals will be based in the showgrounds, with a cruise to Mt Panorama on the Saturday including a spin around the famous track and a show ’n’ shine where the entrants will choose the winner of the Australia’s Most Beautiful Van award.
Sunday will see a massive show ’n’ shine at the showgrounds, with lots of cool memorabilia on display, rocker cover racing, a visit from the Easter Bunny and the serious show judging. There will be many famous vans on show, including Jade, Innervisions and our own Simon Major’s Disturbia!
So check out Simon Davidson’s photos from the 2013 Nationals in Queensland, and for more info check out: http://www.bathurstvannationals.com/
