AS USUAL there are plenty of cool car events happening around the country this weekend. No matter what state you live in there are no excuses for having a quiet one!
In Melbourne the Calder Park Test n Tune drags are set to go off on Sunday as racing returns to Calder. It doesn’t matter if you want to race your streeter, race machine or even your bike or just spectate – everyone’s welcome! Gates open at 9:30am with racing expected to commence around 11am.
If you’re heading to Calder for the Test n Tune why not join the Craig Brewer Memorial Cruise 2 Calder. Craig was a racing legend who sadly passed away earlier this year from cancer. The cruise leaves from the inbound Officer BP service station at 9am.
Powercruise is on at Queensland Raceway all weekend with cruising, drifting, racing, burnouts, Street Outlaws, dyno and show ‘n’ shine! Australia’s only two-seater Top Fuel drag car will also be at the show.
Next door to Powercruise, Nitro Funny Car action at Willowbank Raceway is sure to go off on Saturday night. Racing begins at 5pm with tickets costing $30 for adults and free entry for kids under 13 years old.
Also in Victoria, we have the King of the Street comp at Heathcote Raceway, presented by the guys at Tunnel Vision Racing. The event pits some of Melbourne’s top street cars against each other to see who’s got the toughest ride around. All the action kicks off on Saturday at 11am.
Another Melbourne event on Saturday is the Cruise for William Tyrrell, held on the one-year anniversary of the three-year-old’s disappearance from his nana’s house. The cruise begins at 1:30pm, leaving from the outbound Eastlink BP petrol station.
