HSV has revealed official details about its thunderous limited edition GTS Maloo. With 430kW and 740Nm on tap, it’s sure to be the world’s fastest ute for some time.

Blending the GTS sedan and Maloo ute starts with HSV’s thunderous LSA V8. The monster performance figures of the blown 6.2-litre mill eclipse the Maloo R8 by more than 100kW.

AP forged brake calipers sit at each corner to pull the ute up, clamping down on huge 2-piece rotors – 390mm front and 372mm rear. HSV has also integrated the GTS sedan’s diff’ and torque vectoring technology in what is believed to be a ute first.

Just 250 GTS Maloos will be made, 240 for us and 10 for our Kiwi friends. A six-speed manual with twin plate clutch is standard, or there’s an optional six-speed auto. Both transmission packages include an oil cooler.

HSV is adding two new colours to the Gen F range to coincide with the GTS Maloo launch. There’s Jungle Green (shown here) and a deep red/bronze called Some Like It Hot.

Production starts in November with the first utes available later that month. Pricing is expected to fall somewhere around $85-90k.
