This issue marks the 30th anniversary of Street Machine, so we are celebrating with a big 172-page magazine — with a 100-page commemorative mag strapped on the back.

The centrepiece of the extra mag is the Top 20 Street Machines Of All Time, as voted by you, the readers on It’s an interesting list, headed by Adam Le Brese’s EH Holden sedan delivery, closely followed by Holden’s world-famous EFIJY concept car and Rob Godfrey’s TOYTON.

Other highlights include the histories of the mags that came before Street Machine — namely The Australian Hot Rodding Review and the infamous Van Wheels. We also dug through our archives to find a series of stunning images to represent each of the three decades, documenting changes not only in car building, but fashion and haircuts as well!

And while it’s a lot of fun to revisit the past, we also tried to look into the future by asking six of the best up-and-coming street machine builders where they think our sport is heading.
