Chris Pearson's 2000hp HSV VY Clubsport blew everyone away at MotorEx 2018

CHRIS Pearson’s VY Commodore is a car that we’ve been following for a while, but even we were blown away when it was unveiled at Meguiar’s MotorEx over the weekend. We saw the car roughly two months ago when it was plain white and had a race car vibe interior with just a couple of Kirkey race seats, a gear shifter and steering wheel.

All the mechanicals were done, including that crazy engine, the wiring for the Haltech Elite ECU done by MPW Performance and fab work completed by McDonald Brothers racing – using one of their trick tubular front ends. However in the short space of time between then and MotorEx, Chris’s business Corporate Auto Body went to town on the car and turned it into a showstopper with a stunning paint job and full interior!

When the Clubby was unveiled as part of the House of Kolor Inauguration, the first thing everyone saw was the monster engine. It’s a 509ci all alloy Keith Black big-block Chev boosted by a crank driven Vortech V28 123mm supercharger. It’s a crazy engine that has previously made 2000rwhp and run 6.90 down the quarter in a Chevy Impala over in the States. So while this VY might look like a show car, it has been built to do some serious numbers.

We look forward to seeing this beauty running down the quarter and maybe even competing in Street Machine Drag Challenge one day.
