MATT James has done it again! Last year at Motorvation at the Perth Motorplex, Matt backed up his Summernats 31 Burnout Masters one-two finish by taking out the Blown burnout class in his COMPACT Fairlane. This year, he had both COMPACT and his UNWANTED blown VF ute entered, and he had a cracker weekend. Even though he hurt the transmission in UNWANTED, COMPACT was on-song and Matt drove the wheels off the thing.

Straight off a killer performance at ’Nats 32, Matt had the blown small-block revving its heads off at 9000rpm, with flames spitting from the exhaust and the blower whining away for the whole skid. With UNWANTED sidelined, Matt was clearly on a mission to defend his Motorvation burnout title. The skid featured plenty of high-speed wheel work and the tyres certainly didn’t last long.

Matt’s handiwork scored him first place in the Blown class for the burnouts. Sam Lord came in second with his HZ ute, BAD HABIT, while third place went to Mathew Duthie in PHAT PREM.

Christian Barber won the Open class in VYOLENSS, followed by Dean Parker in his L3GIT HX Holden wagon and Chad Greenmount in his Holden ute, OHYEAH.
