IT was all happening at Heathcote Park Raceway last weekend as a heap of pre-1976 cars rocked up for the Marsh Rodders Fun Day. Unlike your typical day at the drags, there were a heap of early-model hot rods and gasser-style nostalgia racers like Steve Costa’s wheelstanding Blaster ’57 Chev taking to the track.
The track was pretty slippery early which made getting off the line tricky and keeping it glued through to the finish wasn’t easy as some guys became unstuck at high speed. Fortunately there was no bent metal. By the afternoon the conditions were ideal and the cars were running quick times. Check out the video to see how it went down.
