THERE ARE two ways to make your car quicker. One way is to start with something light and make it even lighter, or the other way is to just fill it full of horsepower. We reckon Robert Adamo ticked option B with his Ford Bronco.

We featured Rob’s 1984 Bronco in our September 2012 issue. At 2100kg it’s no lightweight, but this all steel 80’s SUV is packing 427 cubes up front, and Rob isn’t afraid to give it a sniff of nitrous from time to time. With the giggle gas activated it has run 9.8 at 137mph.
