Blown LS3-powered VH Commodore dyno – Video

Ryan Bentley's VH Commodore street car runs a LS3 topped by a 2.9-litre Whipple supercharger

LOOKING at this VH Commodore with giant tubs, no rear seats and huge billet 22×13-inch rear wheels, you’re probably thinking there’s no way that gets driven on the street. But you’d be wrong, because not only did Ryan Bentley drive this car to Meguiar’s MotorEx 2018; afterwards he drove it to a popular pizza shop in Port Melbourne!

And somewhere in between he stuck it on the Mainline MPW dyno to see how much power he could get out of it. Under the bonnet is a stock bottom end LS3 topped with a 2.9-litre Whipple supercharger running on E85 juice which was screwed together by GM-F Performance. It is still running a big low boost pulley at the moment so we weren’t expecting crazy numbers.

Backing the LS donk is a Hasty Automatics TH400 trans ran into a pretty trick nine-inch four-link rear end sending drive to those massive rear wheels. Ryan uses it purely as a tough street car, though he might swap the big billets for fifteens and drag radials one day just to see what it’ll do down the quarter. On the dyno it spun up 555rwhp.
