MANY of us don’t have the luxury of working on cars in big workshops with all the tools and equipment, so you’ve got to make the most of your space at home – even if that means setting up your engine dyno in your living room. Yep Jeffrey Paull has a fully functioning engine dyno, used to test and tune his 1679cc Type 1 VW race engine, setup in his living room, just a few feet away from where he built the engine – possibly in the kitchen?

While the engine is running, Jeffrey ensures he leaves a door open so that he doesn’t gas himself out or anyone else that may or may not live with Jeffrey for that matter (can’t imagine house mates or a missus would approve of his setup). However, he still reckons the house smells like race fuel.

We’ve seen plenty of engine dynos around the country and generally they’re in perfectly sealed air-conditioned rooms with heavy soundproofing and the exhaust plumbed out into the open air. Comparatively, this is pretty dodge.
