MOPAR SUNDAY 2015 – RAINED OUT, BUT STILL COOL

Mopar Sunday started off as an informal birthday celebration, but a decade later it’s become one of the most popular events on the Australian Mopar calendar

MOPAR Sunday started off as an informal birthday celebration for Queensland Chrysler aficionado Jim Tatton. When the concept was imagined it was all about just hiring Willowbank Raceway so Jim could have fun with his sons, his Chryslers, and a few close friends, but a decade later it’s become one of the most popular events on the Australian Mopar calendar.

So we decided to head up and check out the Pentastar action at Willowbank last weekend, but unfortunately some unexpected precipitation postponed the event for the first time in 13 years. Even with the inclement weather, we still managed to find some pretty cool cars and have a chat to their equally cool owners, and discovered that Mopar guys are some of the most passionate car people around.

We also had a chance to check out the all-new Hellcat Charger and Challenger, and they’re awesome. Can you believe there are currently eight in the country being prepared for Australian roads?

Stay tuned for full interviews and videos on some of these cars during the next week or so, and make sure you mark your calendars down for 8 November – that’s when they’re rerunning Mopar Sunday 2015.
