STEVE Alldrick and the boys from Deluxe Rod Shop in Victoria recently finished restoring a one-of-one Ford XW GS panel van. We had the car in the Street Machine studio a few weeks ago, and couldn’t let Steve out of the building without getting him in front of the camera to tell us what went into this fascinating build.

The car isn’t a replica, it’s a genuine factory GS, complete with 302, top loader and nine-inch – and it’s the only one they ever made in silver. Two other GS vans exist, but they were finished in red, so this one is pretty special.

We’ll have a full feature on the van in our May issue, but for now check out the video, as Steve talks us through the four-year process of piecing the car back together before finally showing it at Summernats 29 earlier this year.
