Ron Smith from Kustom Bitz has been working on a sweet ’32 Ford Roadster that’s going to be a nice quick cruiser when it’s finished. In the brief the customer wanted a flathead V8 for that old-school look but he also wanted to drive it interstate without any hassles. The solution was a carbied LS-based Arias motor.
Ron is also building a custom chassis from pre-formed rails to suit the all-steel Brookville roadster body. Ron reckons it’s one of the better shells around because the roof retracts electrically into the parcel shelf so you don’t have to leave the roof at home to go for a topless cruise. It also has burst-proof locks, hidden hinges and a collapsible steering column. It even comes chopped, straight-out-of-the-box!
We caught up with Ron to chat about the interesting engine and the custom chassis he’s building for the ’32 Ford.
