SOUTH Aussie Jono Kelly has been skidding this VK Calais for years. It started off as a basic 308 car and then Jono went down the common route of piecing together a 355 stroker motor for the car. Then two years ago he did an LS swap, shoving a carby 6.2-litre LS3 donk under the bonnet wound up to 600hp with a few basic mods.

We caught up with Jono at Gazzanats Darwin to chat about the car. Unfortunately after praising his combo for its reliability early in the weekend, the LS3 carked it in the final round of the burnout comp. Jono will have her fixed up in no time and ready for Red CentreNATS next month.
