VIDEO: KIDS BUILD A KOMBI – PART 3

Episode three of the Sidchrome Kombi build is all about horsepower

Share

BEHOLD, the third episode of our mega Sidchrome Vee-Dub Kombi van build! The Kombi is being put together by the folks at the Chisholm Institute of TAFE in Dandenong, Victoria, in association with Sidchrome. The plan is to take this old snotter and turn it into a slammin’ head-turner.

Last time we checked out how the once tired old ’71 Kombi body was coming along at Chisholm TAFE, and now in Part Three we’re at Australian VW Performance Centre to have a gander at the motor that’s going to power this killer van. The donk gets thrown into a mock chassis and onto the chassis dyno, while Editor Telfo chats with master mechanics Daniel and Michael Reinhardt, who are going to make this Kombi prowl.

Tune in next month as we return to the Chisholm Institute of TAFE to see how the body has progressed.
