RON BERRY’S ‘Surf Seeker’ is so custom that it only uses the suspension and engine from an old Kombi.

Everything else they’ve made themselves. It’s just one the amazing creations that Ron from Southern Utah has built in the last 50 years and his hot rod woody wagon ‘Shorebreak’ shares the same crazy proportions.

Looking more cartoon than car, this crazy van is like some kind of wild acid trip and it features electric opening doors and windows, including a one piece front door that hinges forward to accept the driver and front passenger.

Everywhere you look there are plenty of neat touches from the dancing hula girl on the dash to the pop out skateboard wheelie bars that stop the whole thing toppling over backwards if they ever stand on the gas.

Just in case you’re thinking this is a fibreglass shell, we can assure you that it’s all steel! Rolling on 24in chrome rims with a 72in wheelbase, the Kombi looks insane and there a polished B&M blower sitting atop a Dick Landy intake and 2175cc VW flat four sitting in full view of those driving or standing behind.

It was certainly getting plenty of attention at the Grand National Roadster show.
