It’s back! After a year away, Street Machine Summernats is rocking Exhibition Park for its 34th horsepower party.

As usual, Wednesday doesn’t feature any public events, but hundreds of incredible cars fronted up for scrutineering on ahead of a big program starting today.

Boss-man Telfo strolled through the lanes in search of cool metal, spotting a raft of patina’d early Holdens, stunning fresh builds, and even a repatriated WARBIRD Falcon.

Armidale’s Paul Cundy has been bringing eyeball-popping rides for decades! This year, he brought this mad EJ Holden ute, complete with period-correct canopy and Tasman mags.

Paul also sign-wrote this wild Commer van. “We did it when the border was shut. He’s from Queensland, so we met at the border, pushed the car over the border, did the job and pushed it back over.

While the bastard virus means we’re operating on with a reduced crew, stay tuned for Thursday action soon, including coverage of the City Cruise, Skid Row and Tuff Street.
