What an event! Street Machine Summernats 34 wrapped up yesterday against a backdrop of perfect summer weather.

With the afterglow from the Supercruise, Fringe Festival and some old-school mayhem on the cruise route on Saturday night still flowing through everyone’s veins, entrants, punters and officials all had mile-wide smiles.

The Grand Champion driving events got the day off to a cracking start – it is always awesome to see high-end, brand-new cars being put to the test on the Summernats burnout pad!

Jason Mansweto was crowned Grand Champ shortly afterwards and Nats founder Chic Henry was recognised in a ceremony that named the iconic burnout pad grandstand in his honour.

Henry Winter took out the Horsepower Heroes title in his FLEXEN FG Falcon, seeing off Ben Neal and his Barra-powered Cresta. Drag Challenge Weekend vet Nelson Granger went home with win in the aspirated class.

Both the Burnout Masters and Burnout Champion finals were epic! With Tim Brown and Steven Loader taking the wins respectively. Check out the Masters final video here.

In the video, we chat to photographer Chris Thorogood, go for a ride with Ivan Myers and document more than a few touching moments! Stay tuned for more killer content during the week.
