“I’ve owned my R8 ClubSport for over 10 years and debuted it at AutoFest in New Zealand last September.

Up front is a 710hp, 408-cube LS with a Harrop 2.3-litre blower, hooked to a T56 with a Mantic twin-plate clutch, lightened flywheel and short shifter.

The rear end is a Monro Racecars nine-inch that uses a Strange Pro Iron third member, 35-spline axles and 4.11 gears.

The suspension consists of Tein adjustable front coil-overs and a Monro Racecars custom four-link rear with Gazzard Brothers coil-overs and a heavy-duty Monro Racecars sway-bar.

AP Racing 390mm disc brakes with six-piston calipers live up front, with VF HSV four-piston calipers out back. Wheels are 20×9.5-inch and 20×12-inch Work CR 3Ps wearing 255/30R20 and 325/25R20 tyres respectively.

Exterior mods include a carbonfibre Walkinshaw bonnet scoop, VY GTS guard and door moulds, VY GTS front spoiler, and Glasurit paint. Inside are Coulson front seats, a rear seat modified for tubs, an Alpine stereo and Soundstream subs.

Rolling through the gates at AutoFest was an awesome feeling; this was the day everyone got to see my dream.

Ripping the covers off after a few hectic days and very little sleep was a priceless experience to have shared with my dad and son.” Photos: Rixsta Sammons.
