Paul Kerlin's 1966 Ford Mustang

Paul Kerlin's '66 Mustang has had a few mods over the past 10 years, but he says it's still an ongoing project

This article on Paul's Mustang was originally published in the September 2018 issue of Street Machine

“AFTER selling a ’78 XC Cobra coupe in the early 2000s, I was starting to itch for a new toy. In 2007 I found a green and beige ’66 Mustang coupe in Perth. The advert read okay and the local Mustang club arranged a couple of members to have a look and they gave it the thumbs-up.

While the colour combo was not ideal, it was a straight, rust-free car with a 347ci stroker and C6 auto. The deal was done and the car was trucked to Canberra.

The next 10 years have seen the car get a nine-inch diff, power steering, black interior and, of course, the satin silver paint with black accents.

It’s still an ongoing project. You never really finish old cars.”
