Bruno Gianoncelli’s Mercules was a landmark Aussie-built wild custom that featured on the cover of the March 2006 issue of Street Machine.

It debuted at Street Machine Summernats 19, where it dominated the Elite Hall, taking out nine trophies including Top Judged, Top Bodywork, Top Standard Paint and Top Interior.

At Meguiar’s MotorEx later in 2006, it nabbed paint guru Jon Kosmoski’s Sponsor’s Choice and was named a Meguiar’s Superstar in the Street Machine category.

In 2007, Bruno took the car to the US. His first stop was SEMA, where it won the Mothers Top Custom award. The following year, it won the coveted Custom Sweepstakes ‘Best Custom’ Trophy at Blackie Gejeian’s invitation-only Fresno Autorama.

The car was sold in the US and later made its way to Turkiye, where it largely disappeared from public view.

Until now, that is. Mercules is being offered for auction on a government website, with a starting bid of 3,500,000 Turkish Lira (around AU$200,000), plus tax.

The car appears to have been sitting under an open shed (for at least four years going on the date of the video below) and isn’t a pretty sight, although it appears to be complete. We’d love to see it return to Australia, but at that price plus shipping, it could be a big ask for even the most well-heeled Aussie custom fan.
