This episode of Carnage sees Scotty throwing a bunch of awesome upgrades onto our 1JZ-swapped Volvo 240 including a new ignition system, hood latches and some fresh new wheels!

The wheels are from our friends and awesome Carnage sponsors VPW Australia, who hooked us up with a pair of their Street Pro spinners. Funnily enough these Volvo’s run the same 5×108 stud pattern as early Holden’s so a pair of 15x6s bolted straight on, not only giving the car a tough new look but also saving three kilos on each corner. And don’t worry, we’ve got a matching pair of rears on order.

Our second upgrade was for the ignition system, which we sourced from Billet Performance Products. The Trolvo’s1JZ is cranking out over 560rwhp now, and we’re still running the factory (and probably original) coils which is no bueno. The BPP kit is a conversion to R35 GT-R coils, and Gerardo from G Force Race Solutions made us a plug-in wiring harness to make the swap super easy.

The last upgrade before heading back to the track was installing some Proflow Pro Latch bonnet hold downs. The Trolvo has a bad habit of popping the bonnet during its runs down the strip, and adjusting the factory catch has left the bonnet stuck down on more than one occasion.

Given how easy these are to install and how nice they look, it was a no brainer. With some love from our Ryobi power gear and a few hole saws Scotty had the job buttoned up quick smart, and while it may seem daunting to cut holes in your bonnet the end result is well worth it.

In the next episode of Carnage you’ll see Scotty back at Heathcote Park Raceway in the Trolvo to go hunting for nines, so make sure you don’t miss it!
