Monday’s are always made more bearable with a fresh episode of Carnage¸ and this week kicks off in style as we watch Scotty take on the Tuff Mounts Holden Drag Nationals in Supermang at Heathcote Park Raceway.

In the last installment of Carnage, Scotty finished off installing the water-to-air intercooler and diff upgrades with the help of some talented fans, which you can watch here.

The first goal at Holden Nationals was to finally get the Supermang into the 12s, was which the car did easily this time on its first pass off of the trailer with a 12.93 @106mph. After three more qualifying runs on the Saturday, the car further improved its PB to a 12.88 @107mph to round out Saturday’s racing.

Sunday had one more round of qualifying before the eliminations kicked off, and to our surprise the VN went one better right off of the bat with a 12.74 @107mph. That gave Scotty some confidence going into this first final, up against Mark Barber’s 10-second RB30 LJ Torana.

The Holden Power Adder class Scotty was running in at Holden Nats was a dial-in category, meaning he had a big head start over Mark’s Torana; Scotty dialing in at a 12.75 and Mark at a 10.30.

Unfortunately the racing gods weren’t on Scotty’s side this time, with Mark beating him to the line and running a super consistent 10.31 versus Scotty’s 12.92.

Even though we got knocked out in the first round, Scotty as happy that the car ran five 12-second passes over the weekend with no breakages and a neat PB. With the stocko 3.8-litre L67 combo pretty well exhausted, we figure the next step from here is to drop in the 4.2-litre stroker L67 currently being put together by Top Torque. Oh, and did someone say turbo? You’ll find out soon!

Thanks as always to our awesome sponsors: VPW Australia, Ryobi and the good folks at Hare and Forbes!
