Ford Australia has announced a recall affecting more than 1000 of its Everest and Ranger models due to a fault with in-car tech that could result in images from the rear-view camera failing to display on the centre display screen, potentially posing an increased risk of a serious accident.
The recall affects some 2024-2026 model year Rangers and Everests which come equipped with a 10.1-inch centre display screen. According to the recall notice, a manufacturing issue means the screen “may stop functioning” and go blank, preventing the driver from seeing where they’re going while reversing.

“If the rear-view image is not displayed on the centre display screen while reversing the vehicle, this could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to persons behind the vehicle,” the notice reads.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing by Ford to request that they get in touch with an authorised dealer to have the issue fixed at no cost. Alternatively, they can call the Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 13 36 73.
This is the 23rd recall Ford has been hit with in 2026, and it follows the Blue Oval being forced to halt sales of its Mustang last month as a recall affected more than 7700 of the pony cars.
As WhichCar by Wheels pointed out in a feature in August, Ford has been hammered by quality problems for several years, and the firm’s efforts to correct the slide have borne little fruit.

Ford is currently on pace to break the mark of 25 Australian recalls it set in 2025, following on from 17 recalls in 2024. The poor quality control Aussie customers have been dealing with has been mirrored around the world, too.
The Blue Oval recorded an industry-record 153 recalls globally in 2025 with almost 13 million vehicles affected. Stellantis, which owns 16 brands including Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler and Opel, had just 53 recalls affecting 2.7 million vehicles in the same period.
