Prices increase across Volkswagen range

Volkswagen Australia has increased the retail prices of multiple models across its range, justifying the extra premium with equipment upgrades.

Affecting six models in its line-up, the changes range from $200 in the case of the Golf, to $1800 for the Touareg 210TDI Elegance – although the Passat, T-Cross, T-Roc and Tiguan have also gone up in price.

The 11 increases across various trim variants works out at an average of $985, with Volkswagen telling Wheels the extra costs come alongside upgrades.

Volkswagen Golf Australian pricing – October 2021

The eighth-generation Golf was released earlier this year and now has a touch control panel for rear zone climate-control air-conditioning as standard, as well as an easy close electric tailgate – which has been added to the Life’s wagon variants.

The entry-level T-Cross Life now benefits from gearshift paddles behind its multi-function steering wheel, plus power folding mirrors, while the Style variant additionally features touch controls rather than hard keys for its dual-zone climate-control system.
