Omoda Jaecoo is celebrating its 10,000th new vehicle sale in Australia since entering the local market in May 2025. Positioned as the more premium arm of Chery, which is also enjoying healthy Australian sales, a lot of Omoda Jaecoo’s sales energy has come from the new Jaecoo J5 small SUV amid a record June sales result for the Australian new car market.

The sales milestone comes after strong demand for the J5 in particular, which was the best-selling electric small SUV in May 2026 alone with 2126 registrations. In fact, the J5 range was the seventh-best selling new vehicle in Australia in May 2026, which was a record month that saw an EV — the Tesla Model Y — become the best-selling new vehicle locally for the first ever time.

The 10,000th Omoda Jaecoo sold in Australia was a J5 EV, registered to Jeff Feng of Sydney, who purchased it for his parents.
