Electric vehicle fast charging network provider Evie has opened its first site in the Northern Territory today.

The new site, located at Marrara Red Rooster, is now open and home to two 50kW DC chargers – making it the fastest public site in the state.

In total Evie – second-largest EV charging provider in the country behind Chargefox – now has 104 locations across Australia in every state and territory.

"The partnership with Red Rooster was formed due to a shared focus on the local community, quality customer experience, and recognising how we can both make a sustainable difference, said Chris Mills, CEO of Evie Networks.

"We are committed to delivering accessible, everyday charging solutions to our customers.”

To thank drivers for their support, Red Rooster Marrara will give free regular chips to customers between today (February 27) and March 1, 2023, who show proof of charge at the Marrara site.

Back in December, Evie launched its 100th electric vehicle charging site in just three-years.

The milestone was marked by activating two 350kW DC ultra rapid stations at Toowoomba NorthPoint Shopping Centre, west of Brisbane.

The Australian company is aiming to triple its network size by deploying 200 new charging hubs in 2023.
