Not since the Chrysler by Chrysler of the 1970s has a brand offered such a stupid name as the Ferrari LaFerrari.
Still it’s hard to be too critical of the star of the Geneva motor show. Ferrari’s new flagship is billed as an F1 car for the road with technology transfer in the carbon tub and hybrid drivetrain.
The mid-mounted 6.3-litre V12 is related to that used in the FF and F12 but now makes 588kW and is redlined at a screaming 9250rpm. An electric motor adds a further 120kW.
