Geely has launched its new TT electric sports sedan in China, combining an 800-volt electrical system, standard LiDAR and strong performance with pricing that starts at the equivalent of about $27,000.

Known as the Galaxy TT in China and simply the TT in international material, the new model is offered in five variants, comprising four rear-wheel-drive versions and a flagship all-wheel-drive Ultra.

Prices run from 129,900 yuan to 159,900 yuan for the rear-drive range, equal to approximately $27,000 to $33,200 at current exchange rates, while the limited-production Ultra costs 185,900 yuan, or around $38,600.

Those figures place it significantly below some rival electric sedans in its home market. By comparison, the latest Xiaomi SU7 starts at 229,900 yuan, equivalent to around $47,800.

The TT is based on Geely’s GEA EVO electric platform and uses double-wishbone front suspension, a five-link rear arrangement and adaptive dampers. Rear-drive versions produce 245kW, while the dual-motor Ultra develops a combined 425kW and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.8 seconds.

Lotus was involved in tuning the Ultra’s chassis, with the flagship carrying a “Handling by Lotus” badge. Geely also claims the TT has set a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous drift on a wet surface, covering more than 46km.

All versions use an 800V electrical architecture and CATL Shenxing TT lithium iron phosphate batteries capable of charging at up to 6C. Geely says nearly 500km of claimed driving range can be added in 11 minutes.

The entry model uses a 63.8kWh battery with a claimed 640km CLTC range, or about 518km on the more demanding WLTP standard. A larger 75.2kWh battery extends the longest-range rear-drive version to 725km on the Chinese test cycle.

LiDAR is standard across the range and feeds Geely’s G-ASD driver-assistance system, which provides highway and urban navigation assistance. Inside, there’s a Super Eva AI assistant, flat rear floor and 23-speaker Flyme Sound audio system.

The TT measures close to five metres long with a 2920mm wheelbase. For now, Geely has announced the model only for China, with no Australian launch confirmed.
