Australian pricing and specifications for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class electric medium sedan have been confirmed ahead of its local arrival in early 2027, revealing a powerful new addition to the German luxury brand’s growing electric vehicle range.
The new C400 4Matic electric will be priced from $105,700 before on-road costs, which positions it as a more affordable alternative to the larger EQE sedan, which originally launched in Australia from $134,900 before on-road costs. Unlike the petrol-powered C-Class, the electric version rides on Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated new ‘MB.EA’ electric vehicle platform, which it shares with the new electric GLC SUV.
Initially, Australian buyers will be offered a single C400 4Matic variant which uses two electric motors producing a combined 360kW and 800Nm outputs. Mercedes-Benz claims the electric sedan can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.0 seconds, making it quite quick.

A 94kWh NMC battery provides a claimed WLTP-rated driving range of up to 753km in Australia specification, and thanks to its 800-volt architecture, it can be DC fast charged at up to 330kW for a claimed 22-minute 10-80 per cent top up. Mercedes-Benz also claims that up to 325km of additional driving range can be added in just 10 minutes under ideal charging conditions.
Inside, the C-Class electric features Mercedes-Benz’s latest ‘MBUX Superscreen’ setup, incorporating a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and two 14-inch displays for infotainment and the front passenger. Other standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, AMG Line styling, a Burmester sound system, heated electric front seats, a head-up display and a panoramic glass roof with adjustable transparency.
Buyers can also spend an additional $8200 on a Luxury Package, which adds the larger 39.1-inch ‘MBUX Hyperscreen’, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. A separate $5200 package adds air suspension and rear-wheel steering, while buyers can also no-cost de-select the Night Package.

The new C-Class electric will compete against a growing number of premium electric sedans, including the Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2 and upcoming BMW i3, while also offering buyers an electric alternative to the familiar petrol-powered C-Class.
The Mercedes-Benz C400 4Matic electric is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms in early 2027, with further variants potentially joining the range later.
