Our favourite Mazda MX-5 specials

Three decades ago Mazda introduced a little car with a big future. Since then the now-iconic MX-5 has gone on to be a resounding success for the Japanese manufacturer, and one of the most loved sports cars of modern times.

In recognition of consistently strong global sales and a fearsomely loyal fan base, Mazda has created a special edition dubbed the 30th Anniversary Edition.

You could argue that, with a recently updated and more powerful engine, combined with arguably the best chassis and handling package to date, the current ND model needs little enhancement to celebrate 30 years.

On the other hand, you’d be forgiven for saying the special paint, Rays wheels, Alcantara Recaro seats and boosted brakes are a mere gesture in return for more than a million sales.
