GONE! COTY 2013 claims its first victims

It’s a sad but true fact that there can only be one winner of Wheels COTY.

And in an award as prestigious and cut throat as ours, there’s no participation ribbons or ‘best and fairest’ awards.

So it was with a brutal and cool efficiency that our first round of cuts took place at Lang Lang.

Biting the dust early are: the Audi A3, Lexus IS, Fiat Panda, Holden Trax, the ‘ergonomically bizarre’ Peugeot 2008, the Jaguar F-Type, Honda CR-V and Mercedes A Class.

All took an early bullet for varying reasons – read our February issue, out January 16 to find out why.

Of course, while there are casualties, others soldier on, meaning the battle for things year’s crown heads into round two with six contenders still intact.

They are: the Porsche Cayman, Ford Kuga, Renault Clio, Holden VF Commodore, VW Golf and Mazda 6.
