Ford Australia is recalling more than 1000 examples of its EcoSport over a fire risk.
The issue affects 1029 vehicles made between 2013 and 2017.
According to the Department for Infrastructure, the hood insulator may become damaged and come in contact with hot engine components resulting in a fire – creating a risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants and others.
A list of VINs is available here.
Ford will contact affected owners in writing asking them to make an appointment at their preferred Ford dealer for inspection and repair, free of charge.
