- Relates to a software issue with the indicator system
- 7637 vehicles affected
All variants of the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Kia Carnival are being recalled over a risk of a fault with the indicator system.
The recall states that a software issue with the Smart Junction Box used in model YP Carnivals may result in the indicator being triggered in the opposite direction to where the driver specifies.
While not a major mechanical fault, a misleading indicator can still lead to serious road trauma when misinterpreted by other motorists.
According to the recall, 7637 vehicles are involved.
Owners are urged to contact their local Kia dealership, which will diagnose vehicles and fix the issue free of charge.
