Navigation and camera-based active safety technology including automatic emergency braking has been added to the list of standard specification across the entire Toyota RAV4 range.

The 2018 model year update upgrades the entry-level GX, and GXL with a safety pack previously exclusive to the range-topping Cruiser, including a pre-collision system, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure alert, active cruise control and automatic high beam.

GLX versions also gain blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic that was previously fitted to the Cruiser only. There’s also a $2500 premium interior option for the GXL that adds 10-way adjustable power-operated leather-trimmed driver’s seat with two-position memory and front seat heaters.
