The facelifted 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid has been detailed for Australia.
Pricing for the Sorento Hybrid will now start at $70,300 before on-road costs – up $3580. It remains limited to the top-of-the-range GT-Line variant.
The front-wheel-drive Sorento Hybrid is also $580 dearer than the previous AWD version.

Likewise, the Sorento Hybrid AWD has received an identical $3580 price hike to $73,330 plus on-roads.
Compared to the GT-Line petrol V6 FWD, the front-drive hybrid commands a $4710 premium, while the all-wheel-drive hybrid is $4740 more than the diesel.
Prices for the Sorento GT-Line Plug-In Hybrid AWD are due to be announced closer to its arrival between July and September. The pre-facelift version was listed at $81,080 before on-road costs at the end of 2023.

As with the facelifted petrol and diesel Sorento variants launched in January, there is an updated design, additional standard equipment, and a more premium cabin design.
All features are shared with standard GT-Line variants, except for smaller 19-inch alloy wheels borrowed from the one-step-down Sport+.
Kia Australia has confirmed remote smart parking assist – previously limited to petrol and diesel models – is now available for the Sorento Hybrid.

The Sorento Hybrid features a 132kW/265Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 40kW electric motor and a 1.5kWh lithium-ion battery for a 169kW/350Nm total system output.
A six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission sends power to either the front or all four wheels.
The front-drive 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid is rated to consume 5.4L/100km on the combined cycle – up 0.1L – while the all-wheel-drive version is down 0.1L to 5.7L/100km.
Kia Australia continues to face limited supply for both electrified Sorento models due to stronger demand from other markets, including North America and Europe.
The brand’s local product planning manager Roland Rivero said in late 2022 that Kia’s effort to build the Sorento Hybrid for Australia was “tokenism at best”, with approximately 20 vehicles allocated for our market each month.
“Australia is only a small part of the greater globe, and we don’t have any CO2 regulations. The Sorento hybrid range only comes out of Korea to supply the world, and some countries have very stringent CO2 regulations,” said Rivero.
Since those comments were made, the Federal Government has introduced a fuel-efficiency standard known as the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard into Parliament, which is planned to commence on January 1, 2025. This would assist Kia and other brands in securing more efficient vehicles for Australia.
The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid has started arriving in local showrooms, with the Sorento Plug-In Hybrid due to follow between July and September.
