GWM’s new Cannon Hi4-T plug-in hybrid ute has arrived in Australian dealerships, with prices starting at $47,990 driveaway for eligible ABN holders under an extended introductory offer.
Private buyers pay $48,990 driveaway for the entry-level Lux, making it Australia’s most affordable plug-in hybrid ute, according to GWM.
The Chinese manufacturer has extended its $2000 launch incentive until November 30, 2026, giving buyers the choice of a $2000 driveaway discount or a fuel card of equivalent value.
The higher-specification Cannon Hi4-T Ultra is priced from $51,990 driveaway for eligible ABN holders, or $52,990 for private buyers, with the discount applied.

Both variants are now available for customer test drives at GWM dealerships nationally.
The Cannon Hi4-T combines petrol and electric power, delivering a claimed 115km of electric-only driving range under the NEDC testing cycle. This older standard generally produces more optimistic range figures than the newer WLTP test used by many manufacturers.
Despite its electrified drivetrain, the Cannon Hi4-T retains a 3500kg braked towing capacity, matching the benchmark offered by many conventional diesel-powered dual-cab utes.
It also features a mechanical four-wheel-drive system, maintaining the off-road capability expected of a traditional ute.
The new model joins the larger Cannon Alpha Hi4-T, making GWM the only manufacturer currently offering two distinct plug-in hybrid ute models in Australia.
Both sit alongside GWM’s existing diesel ute range, broadening the options available to buyers considering alternatives to conventional diesel power.

The introductory offers apply to vehicles delivered by November 30, subject to availability and conditions. Buyers cannot combine the $2000 discount with the fuel card, and neither offer can be used with other promotions.
