Honda is to enter a trio of electrifed supercars in this year's 100th running of the iconic Pikes Peak hillclimb.

A pair of NSX will be joined by an NSX-inspired all-electric prototype, which will use an evolution of the electric powertrain that won last year's Exhibition class installed in a Honda CR-Z prototype.

The car in the Time Attack 2 class will be a production car, fitted with the requisite safety equipment, and driven by the NSX's dynamic performance engineer Nick Robinson.

His brother, NSX powertrain engineer James Robinson, will pilot the car in Time Attack 1, which will benefit from a lightened chassis and high-flow racing exhaust. Both Robinsons have extensive Pikes Peak experience.
