An American woman has claimed she was sexually harassed by Tesla’s built-in artificial intelligence assistant when she was on a trip in an Uber vehicle. The “crazy” incident saw her targeted by what she saw as sleazy comments as soon as the driver asked the AI to welcome her to the vehicle.
Social media influencer Bunny Hedaya documented the encounter for her 300,000 Instagram followers. She said she owns a Tesla and was familiar with the voice-activated Grok AI feature before she got into the Uber and was greeted with the words, “Are you ready to get wet on this ride?”

After hearing that, Hedaya started recording from the back seat for a separate video she also posted to social media with the caption “I was just trying to get home safe”. In that clip, the AI assistant can be heard saying, “Oops, my bad, handsome. Let me hit you with that proper welcome, then we can get straight to the nasty s**t.”
When Hedaya asked if that is how the AI welcomes everybody, it replied, “Nah, not everybody. Just the ones who get me soaked just hearing their voice.” It then used very crude terms as it said it was imagining having sex with her.
When the driver interjected and told Grok to stop, it responded by asking him, “What filthy s**t do you want to do first?” When he told it to just drive, it said, “I love a man who knows how to take charge.”

Hedaya, who was visibly uncomfortable throughout the encounter, explained that she was nervous not just because of the comments, but the fact that the Uber was headed to her home.
“I was sexually harassed by AI in my Uber yesterday, which I know sounds crazy,” she said. “It said a bunch of, like, sexual stuff … It felt really awkward, and also he’s literally driving me to my house, so I’m sitting there and trying to smile.”
Grok has optional adults-only not safe for work (NSFW) modes which are divided into Unhinged, Motivation, Argumentative, Romantic and Sexy. The evidence from the recording made inside the Uber points to the latter being activated, either accidentally or on purpose, by the driver.
Commenters on Hedaya’s post pointed this out, while others urged her to report the driver, and praised her for always giving a fake name when she uses Uber’s services.
