BMW Australia has confirmed local pricing and availability for its new special edition M cars celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Nürburgring, with just 16 examples allocated to our market and deliveries due to commence from the second quarter of 2027.
As previously reported by WhichCar, the German manufacturer revealed its ‘100 Jahre Nürburgring’ editions in September to celebrate the legendary circuit and its significant role in the development of BMW’s high-performance vehicles.
While six models are offered globally, Australia will receive only four: the M2 xDrive, M3 Competition Sedan M xDrive, M4 Competition Coupe M xDrive and M5 Sedan, with the M3 Touring and M5 Touring variants not due locally. Prices start at $155,800 plus on-road costs for the M2, climbing to $280,800 +ORC for the flagship M5. There will be six M2s for sale locally, four each of the M3 and M4 and just two M5s.

All four models are offered in either BMW Individual Nürburgring Green, which was developed specifically for the anniversary editions, or Black Sapphire metallic. Eight vehicles will be finished in each colour and the special editions feature unique exterior graphics, including ‘100’ anniversary insignia, ‘Nürburgring since 1927’ lettering and silhouettes of the Nordschleife circuit’s famous layout.
There are also model-specific roof designs, contrasting kidney grille surrounds and alloy wheels with Nürburgring Green accents. Inside, the anniversary treatment continues with Black and White M seats featuring green, black and white contrast stitching, suede steering wheels and unique Nürburgring detailing on the headrests, door sills and other trim pieces.
However, the special editions are unchanged mechanically with the M2 using the same 353kW/600Nm turbo-six, the M3 and M4 Competition using their 390kW/650Nm turbo-six and the M5 its 535kW/1000Nm 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
2027 BMW M 100 Jahre Nürburgring Australian pricing:
- M2: $155,800
- M3 Competition: $210,800
- M4 Competition: $215,800
- M5: $280,800
The special editions celebrate BMW M’s long-standing relationship with the Nürburgring, which opened in 1927 and remains one of the world’s most demanding circuits. BMW has used the Nordschleife for vehicle development since the 1960s and today, BMW M remains the circuit’s Official Automotive Partner, with a dedicated test centre supporting the development of its production vehicles.
Australia is also an important market for the brand’s performance division. BMW says it sold 3639 M and M Performance vehicles locally in the first nine months of 2026, accounting for 20.5 per cent of its total Australian sales.
Production of the M3, M4 and M5 anniversary editions will commence in January 2027, followed by the M2 in March. Initial Australian deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
