Subaru Australia has recalled several of its models because their fuel pump impeller may not be up to standard.

The marque has issued a notice for 2037 BRZ, WRX, Levorg 2.0, Liberty 3.6, Outback 3.6 and Forester XT models made between 2018 and 2019.

According to the Department for Infrastructure, which issued the notice, the fuel pump impeller may not meet manufacturing specifications, and as a result it may become deformed.

If the fuel pump stops working the vehicle may stall and the subsequent loss of power could cause an accident.

Owners should contact their local preferred Subaru dealership to organise a repair, free of charge, by calling 1800 226 643.

A list of VINs for affected vehicles is available here.
