BMW 3 and 4 Series go through mid-year price increase

BMW Australia has handed out a price increase for certain variants within the 3 Series and 4 Series ranges, with only mild interior updates being implemented.

Although not affecting all versions of the 3 Series Sedan, three of the existing seven variants have gone through a hike in list price, as the 3 Series Wagon is given the same treatment as well.

Starting with the 320i, the entry-level 3 Series has gone from $70,900 before on-road costs to $71,900, the smallest bump up out of the range.

Stepping up from the 320i, the mid-range 330i and 330e's prices have risen by $2000 each, now sitting at $79,900 and $86,900 respectively, while the 330i Touring now retails for $83,900 – also adding the $2000 premium.

It's a similar story for the 4 Series, with the 420i Coupe and Convertible receiving a $1000 increase as the 430i variants also face the $2000 rise, now being sold at $72,900, $90,900, $92,900 and $103,900 respectively, before on-road costs.

It's believed the price tweak across the aforementioned models is due to BMW's ambient lighting pack and 'galvanic embellishers' for the interior controls being added to the cabin's equipment, features which were already standard on the M40i variants.

Although not an increase, BMW has added the Competition M xDrive packages to its M3 and M4, a $6000 jump from the base vehicle's cost – which provides the benefit of all-wheel drive.
